At Energy Assure we provide a prompt and efficient commercial BER service. Our assessors have an Honours Degree in a construction related discipline, are fully trained and SEAI registered. We operate a nationwide service and offer very competitive rates, particularly if provided with drawings of the relevant building. As a general rule the provision of detailed information relevant to the building and its services results in more competitive pricing and a more accurate BER cert.
Our service includes a full building survey, BER calculation, issue of BER Cert, software generated report and if required a full energy advice package (additional energy saving advice specifically tailored to your building).
What is a Building Energy Rating?
Under the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) all EU governments have been obliged to introduce a method for the assessment of the energy efficiency of all commercial buildings. The purpose of these assessments is to identify the running costs and CO2 emissions of the building and includes detailed analyses of the buildings envelope, space heating, cooling, ventilation, lighting and hot water supply. Using the information gathered a rating is assigned, the building is rated between A and G depending on its performance and a cert is issued displaying this rating. This cert is valid for 10 years.
Who requires a non-domestic BER?
Since January 1ST 2009 all commercial properties being offered for sale or to let are legally required to have a Building Energy Rating carried out on the property. Failure to have a BER when required can result in a fine of €5000.
Who is qualified to carry out Your BER?
A level 8 (Honours) degree in a construction related discipline together with the relevant training is required in order to qualify as a Non-Domestic assessor. Qualified BER assessors must be registered with SEAI
